A Designer Dog, the Peke-a-Poo is a cross between a pure-bred Pekingese and a pure-bred miniature Poodle. The Pekingese contributes courage and a watchdog sensibility. The Poodle contributes a high intelligence, ease of training and low-shedding coat.

The Peke-A-Poo is sensitive, intelligent, lively, playful, and eager to learn. They bond closely with their family. Visitors will be announced, but they are generally friendly toward them. Peke-A-Poo's are friendly, protective and affectionate with their family, but wary of strangers. This breed is very intelligent and usually gets along well with other dogs and cats. They are good with gentle older children.

The Peke-A-Poo can live happily in an apartment, but they still need quite a lot of exercise.

They Require brushing every week or so, but often enjoy the time spent with owner while grooming.
